Refresh forms Business Cloud partnership with big plans for RetailTech 50 network

The Refresh team is excited to announce a new partnership with tech publication, Business Cloud, in support of its Top 50 ranking of the UK’s most innovative retail tech creators. Retail tech is a thriving sector in the UK and the ranking represents some of the most exciting businesses in the space.

We see great synergy with Business Cloud, which, like Refresh, is proud of its Manchester roots and is very active in the local tech scene, but has expanded to have nationwide reach and work with innovative businesses across the length and breadth of the UK.

As part of the partnership, we’ll be hosting a roundtable with some of the names from the RetailTech 50 and other leading names from the world of retail. Chaired by executive editor, Chris Maguire, the roundtable will explore how retailers are embracing AI and new tech. It’s set to take place on Wednesday 27th September is being kindly hosted at City Tower in Manchester.

AI has loomed large in many industries over the past 12 months and is something that is impacting and innovating the retail industry in many ways. Many of the businesses in the RetailTech 50 are encompassing AI within their own portfolios to bring new speed, convenience, insight, revenue streams and experiences for customers.

We also know that AI is quickly penetrating the marketing function too in many ways and can help businesses cement their brand and communications message. Yet, as with any area of tech, there is still undoubtedly room and requirement for the human touch, especially when it comes to communicating the benefits and application of advanced tech in an accessible, jargon-free way. We’ve worked with several clients when selling tech solutions into big retailers to do just that and we look forward to learning about our roundtable participants’ experiences of this and how they value and maintain the human touch. The roundtable is set to be a really insightful discussion, and well as a great opportunity for participants to meet other leaders in the industry to share experiences and knowledge.

Joining Lucy Moore, our associate director and head of tech at Refresh, on the roundtable will be:
• Andre Brown, CEO at Advanced Commerce
• Craig McCalley, UK MD at Pimberly
• Lindsay Fisher, CEO at Sparkbox
• Will Lewis, director at OBI
• Donna North/Sarah McVittie, co-founders at Dressipi
• Stuart Ford, COO at Dropitshopping
• Stewart Reynolds, COO/co-founder at Shopblocks

We’re looking forward to bringing them all together to discuss the current marketplace and the threats and opportunities technology currently poses in their world.

The tech team at Refresh is in full planning mode and has lots of exciting updates to come – be sure to keep an eye on our social feeds!
